Refurbished, fully functional Sony TCM-55 monaural cassettecorder

Overview: A monaural cassette recorder that is surprisingly useful for memorizing songs.

Features:
- Counter zero stop. When set to ON, the motor stops at counter 000 during rewind and review, and operates during playback, fast forward, and cue. By resetting the counter at the beginning of a section you want to listen to repeatedly and using the review function at the end of that section, you can listen to it many times. Normally, use this setting OFF.
- VOR (Voice Operated Recording) switch. When set to ON, the motor stops if the surrounding area is silent for about 5 seconds during recording, and starts when there is sound. Normally, use this setting OFF.
- Microphone sensitivity switching switch. Normally, use this setting MEDIUM.
- 3-step playback speed switching.
- Tape counter
- External microphone jack
- Cue & Review
- External power jack (3V, EIAJ#1. For Sony, AC-E30M can be used.)

Repair details: Please refer to images 6 and 7.

Notes:
- This listing is for the main unit only. Please prepare a recording tape and 2 AA batteries separately.
- There are quite a few scratches. Please refer to images 4 and 5.
- The volume VR of this unit has been replaced with one from a different model. For this reason, the numbers 0-10 that are normally on the volume knob are not present on this unit. Furthermore, it is likely that only I have performed this level of maintenance on this unit. I will ignore discount requests unless a competitor emerges who performs similar maintenance. I may lower the price depending on my mood, but the minimum price is 4400 yen.
- This unit is a monaural tape recorder. When headphones or earphones are connected, only the left channel will sound. If you want to listen with both ears, please use a 2-pole male to 3-pole female conversion adapter. (This unit is a monaural cassette recorder, so it will not be stereo.)
- I do not list monaural cassette players. If you are looking for a monaural unit, please search for cassette coder.
