The insole is pristine, and the soles show no wear.  I do believe, though, that they have been coated with white shoe polish not only on the upper, but also on the sole and outsole.  When I washed them, some of the bright white came off (see last photos), and the polish is uneven on the upper.   There are light creases across the toes.
