Vintage handmade ceramic ashtray from 1964 featuring a beautiful blue and green drip glaze with the name MARLENE molded into the front. The triangular design includes a built-in cigarette rest and showcases the organic glazing and craftsmanship typical of mid-century studio pottery. The reverse is hand-inscribed Jeneane 1964, identifying the maker and the year it was created. The small hole in the base is part of the handmade manufacturing/firing process. Personalized ceramic pieces like this were often made as gifts or in ceramics classes during the 1960s, making each one unique. Measures approximately 11 inches across and 1-3/4 inches high. Very good vintage condition with no cracks or repairs. There are a couple of glaze flakes/flea bites along the rim bottom, as shown in the photos, along with light age-related wear consistent with age and handmade pottery.
