Christofle

Description
Collectors piece! A large-scale Christofle silver-plated Art Nouveau warming stand / plateau base dating to circa 1890–1910, measuring 13.5 in length, 9.5 width, and raised 3.5 high on architectural tripod cast feet with cross-braced support. The oval platform features beautifully pierced botanical foliate scrollwork, clearly stamped CHRISTOFLE with control number 4905305, and the central cartouche retains its original period-engraved monogram. The central ring is designed to accommodate a removable spirit burner (not present), confirming true warming stand function rather than decorative trivet use. Sits evenly overall with a very slight movement typical of antique tripod construction. Substantial in scale and weight, this is a serious serving base intended to support a large chafing dish, urn, or centerpiece bowl. Silverplate shows age-appropriate patina consistent with antique use. See photos for full detail. A refined and architectural example of fin-de-siècle French Art Nouveau design.
