Vintage 1960s Vans Authentics Crown Crest Pin or Pendant #2439

Statement brooch from Vans Authentics (also seen marked Van S. Authentics), a mid-century American costume jewelry house whose pieces were sold through department stores and boutiques. Domed crown on the top, a laurel-wreathed shield centered with three small crowns in the middle and  crossed swords at the base. Mixed silver and gold tones.  The design has a royal coat-of-arms aesthetic, bearing a resemblance to the Swedish Tre Kronor coat of arms. Wear it as a brooch or run a chain through the hook at the top of the back to wear as a pendant. Either way, it makes a statement.  Marked on the back: VAN S. AUTHENTICS #2439.
