Zheng Butterfly (鄭蝴蝶) Paper Cutting / Magpie Perched on Plum Blossom, Not a Print.
21.65 $
Description
This is an authentic work from the Zheng Hudie (郑蝴蝶) Paper Cutting Art Studio, known for its master artisans in the traditional Chinese craft of Jianzhi (paper cutting). Purchased in China some time ago.
The motif, Xi Que Deng Mei (喜鵲登梅), meaning Joy Arrives or Good News Flies In, is a very auspicious and lucky design.
The condition is good, with only minor damage to the box and some rust on the metal fittings on the back of the frame. The artwork itself is about the size of a postcard. It is not a print.
