Description
Hand-roasted coffee bean roaster made of stainless steel. It is exceptionally lightweight, easy to handle and clean, making it incredibly easy to roast.

Furthermore, since the lid is not mesh, chaff does not spill from the top, giving it a flavor reminiscent of a semi-hot air roaster.
It was also designed for home use to make cleaning chaff easier.

[Accessories]
- 20g of green beans for trial (we will send you the same beans used for our products)
- Mittens
- Hand-roaster (without thermometer)

[Why a hand-roaster is recommended over a saucepan]

- Lightweight
→ While saucepan roasting may seem less strenuous than continuous hand-roasting, saucepans are significantly heavier and require longer heating times. This product weighs less than half of a saucepan, making it easy to handle even for women and beginners.

- Flavor
→ Hand-roasting uses direct heat to quickly roast green beans, which enhances their aroma and brings out the nuanced flavors of the beans. Because it roasts in a shorter time than a saucepan, it is economical and produces excellent flavor. Many specialty coffee shops that roast their own beans use hand-roasters instead of saucepans.

- Scalability
→ The knowledge gained from using a hand-roaster can be applied when you eventually introduce a larger roaster. Hand-roasting requires you to constantly monitor the beans (listening to sounds, smelling aromas, checking temperature, and feeling texture) and use your senses to guide the roasting process. This experience is transferable to roasting with other equipment.

[Commitment to Equipment Manufacturing]
As a roastery owner, I roast all of our coffee beans using this very equipment. This roaster was designed to allow for nuanced control that is difficult to achieve with large roasters or saucepans.

While it may sound a bit abstract, roasting involves steps such as gradually heating the moisture within the green beans, promoting bean expansion while heating at a constant rate until the first crack, and heating at a constant rate until the second crack while promoting caramelization. The extent to which you can impart your intentions to the beans at each step significantly impacts the final taste. The subtle distance from the heat, or the speed and method of shaking, can make a difference in the final result, which is both the fascinating and challenging aspect of roasting.

To enable such fine adjustments, equipment that is easy to use and durable enough to withstand rigorous use is essential.

We also include green beans, so you can start roasting right away. Please use this hand-roaster to enjoy roasting your own delicious coffee!
