The leaves have a bright green surface with dark green edges and alternating large and small patterns. The undersides of the leaves are a deep reddish-purple.
Calatheas show the top of their leaves during the day by bending at the base, but at night, the leaves stand up towards the sky, showing their undersides. This movement is called nyctinasty or sleep movement.
Height: Approximately 25-33 cm (from the bottom of the pot)
??Care Instructions
Prefers partial shade to bright shade.
Dislikes dryness, so measures such as avoiding direct air conditioner drafts are necessary.
??Watering
Water before the soil surface dries out. It also prefers high humidity, so frequent misting of the leaves is recommended.
??Fertilizer
During the growing season from May to September, apply liquid fertilizer diluted more than the recommended ratio. Alternatively, apply slow-release fertilizer once every two months.
We will ship the plant as a bare-root cutting, with the roots moisturized with soil, via Nekoposu (a Japanese postal service for small packages).
