This is a handmade wooden sign.
We felled cypress trees to create this cutting board.
The front features Open + Beckoning Tanuki and the back features Closed + Tanuki Facing Away.
Everything is hand-drawn.
Tanuki are said to bring business prosperity as they symbolize outperforming others.
The dimensions are 40cm (height) x 26cm (width) x 2.5cm (thickness).
The board has been coated with multiple layers of urethane varnish.
The lettering and tanuki are thickly painted with oil-based paint.
A final topcoat of urethane varnish has been applied.
