Matsumoto Folk Craft Furniture Sliding Door Sideboard Cabinet Mizumezakura High-end Furniture Folk Craft

Thank you for viewing.

This is a sideboard and cabinet from Matsumoto Mingei Furniture, synonymous with high-end folk art furniture.

It features a unique Japanese-Western style furniture that blends traditional Japanese woodworking techniques with Western functional beauty.
It primarily uses Mizumezakura, a rare wood known for its high strength, giving it a sense of weight and beautiful wood grain.
With minimal use of nails and intricate joinery, it is built for durability, lasting a lifetime or even three generations.
The finish involves 8 coats of lacquer or over 13 coats of urushi (Japanese lacquer), which deepens into a rich amber gloss with use.
The shelves inside the sliding doors are securely fixed with fine wood joinery.
