Pyrite Excavation Kit, Harimichi, Nara Prefecture, Set of 2

This product is a pyrite (fool's gold) excavation set from Hari-michi, Nara Prefecture.

After getting out of the car, we climbed a steep mountain path, clung to the local cliff face, and using our experience and intuition, we dug out promising spots with shovels. We then carefully washed the heavy mud collected from the site in a clean stream near our home, removing larger stones and leaving only gravel and pyrite. To allow children to enjoy mineral collecting like a treasure hunt, we have portioned it into approximately 250g bags. Each bag contains a considerable number of pyrite pieces mixed with gravel.

Due to its high specific gravity, it's difficult to capture in photos, but there's quite a lot. 100? 200?
We think it would be fun to buy two bags and compare how many you find.

Inside these bags, you'll find rounded single crystals, some encased in sericite, and others that are sparkling clusters of fine crystals.

White sericite is sericite mica, which is itself a mineral. It's a fine-grained, translucent, clay mineral with a lustrous quality used in cosmetic foundations.

As shown in photo 1, we will randomly ship bags weighing just over 250g.

We currently have 10 sets available for this year.

☆ For those purchasing sets, please note:
We offer a ￥100 discount for 2 sets, ￥200 for 3 sets, and so on.
