Dachi clay is hard, and when used to make a mortar, it creates very distinct, sharp ridges.
Because the ridges are resistant to crushing, you can grind ingredients on the sides of the mortar. For example, grated yam, nutmeg, cinnamon, cucumbers, etc.
This is a product that chefs from all over the country travel far to purchase.

Diameter: 22 cm (Inner diameter: 18.5 cm)
Height: 12 cm

The wooden pestle made from Japanese pepper tree is sold separately (1000 yen). If you wish to purchase it, please let us know in the comments before buying.

Each piece is handmade and hand-painted.

Discounts are available for combined purchases with other items. (The discount amount will vary depending on the size, so please comment.)
Gift wrapping is also available.

■ All ceramic pottery made from clay, such as Mino ware, is not perfect. The timing of firing, placement in the kiln, hand-painted brush strokes, and glaze application all change the appearance depending on the circumstances at the time. In some cases, the glaze may appear chipped, or there may be small bumps or air bubbles. These are considered part of the charm, so please refrain from making complaints, returns, or exchanges for such reasons. We will do our best to replace items that are chipped or broken during shipping.
