Detachable Anklet for Large Birds of Prey (Kangaroo Leather)

This is for large birds of prey.
Inner diameter approx. 20mm.
The leather around the eyelet is cut larger to prevent tearing. We use leather from a kangaroo that is thick and firm, even from a single animal. (This thickness is not suitable for barn owl legs.)
Our barn owl has a leg circumference of 4cm and an inner diameter of 9mm.
Our chaco owl has a leg circumference of 5.5cm and an inner diameter of 14mm.
Lard has been applied. The color is dark gray.
Kangaroo leather is twice as strong, softer, and more durable than cowhide. I had too much leftover from buying a whole kangaroo hide, so I made these anklets for my own owls. Everything is handmade, so there may be slight differences in left-right symmetry and pattern. Please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned about this.
Also, this is a lifeline for birds of prey. We are not responsible for any loss of your bird even if it is wearing an anklet. Please check your bird regularly.
We use ours for about a year as our owls don't bathe very often. It's convenient as you don't need to go to a store.
