Jingdezhen is a city in northern Jiangxi Province, famous as a production center for ceramics.
It is renowned for its blue and white porcelain technique using cobalt pigment called Qinghua. This item is named firefly ware because when held up to the light, the marks from baked rice grains appear to glow translucently like fireflies.

Although unused, this is an older item, so there are some scuffs on the gold trim around the rim.
