These were used by my grandparents who ran a Western clothing store from around the early Showa period.
I am also selling other Japanese scissors.

These scissors are highly likely to have been made using namawari (生割), a very precious traditional manufacturing method commonly practiced until the mid-Showa period (around the 1940s).
Characteristics of the namawari manufacturing method: Creating cracks in the base metal.
This method is extremely labor-intensive, so the number of artisans has drastically decreased, making it a legendary technique today.
Historical Context: From the 1940s to the early 1950s, namawari Japanese scissors handmade by artisans were widely used in sewing boxes across the country.
The vinyl-wrapped handles were popular even back then as a way to prevent hand fatigue and slippage.

Condition: There is some rust on the blade edge, but no major chips, and they are in very good condition.
