Vintage MCM Barware Japanese Sakura Foil & Washi Paper Glass Coasters MAKE OFFER
Vintage
Stunning set of (11) vintage 1950's Japanese barware coasters. Mid-century modern style featuring a beautiful Sakura cherry blossom design with delicate details. Unique shimmering foil-back decal layered over traditional textured Washi rice paper for a beautiful depth and glow. Design is protected under laminated glass with a classic pierced metal gallery rim. Perfect for MCM, Hollywood Regency, or Chinoiserie bar setups. Versatile decorative pieces can be used as drink coasters, small trinket dishes for jewelry, or as a decorative vanity display. Fair vintage condition. These are 70 years old and were lovingly used and not just displayed. Imagine these under a highball of iced tea at your grandmas bridge party. A few of the coasters show fading/color changes/crazing to the decorative washi paper layer from condensation or water getting between the glass. Even with water damage they are still beautiful. The backside of a few are showing foxing (brown spots on vintage rice paper). The metal rims show no signs of tarnish. The rim is bent and the glass is cracked on one coaster. Each coaster is slightly different in wear and condition. These are far from mint condition but would be fun for a collector to have on their vintage bar cart for actual use (they are the right size for today's modern slim cans). Please review all photos and info to determine if condition is acceptable to you before purchasing. Approximately 3.25 in diameter. OPEN TO OFFERS...DON'T BE SHY
