Brutalist or Industrial folk art.  The Brutalist Nail Cross, an artist took standard construction or masonry nails and carefully welded or soldered them into a hollow, three-dimensional geometric lattice. This style of metalwork was incredibly popular among hobbyist welders and studio metal artists from the late 1960s through the 1980s.   The Symbolism: Using nails adds a much heavier layer of religious meaning, directly referencing the crucifixion (the Passion nails). The Contrast: The harsh, sharp spikes of the industrial metal nails contrast beautifully with the organic heart shape, the soft fake roses, and the warm wood heart-shaped base.   Folk art sculptures made of interconnected individual nails (rather than just 3 or 4 large spikes) are highly collectible because of the intense labor required to align and fuse every single point. Large, standing desk or altar crosses with this level of structural depth and added details like the IHS plaque and floral arrangement generate interest and have real value. beautiful person, the artist is now deceased. may he R.I.P. signed by artist ' Christian 98' along with bible verse ' Psalm 103:1-5 ' furniture protectors under base.
