LEE MENICHETTI Golden Yellow Silk Faille Cloak with Black Silk Lining OS

This cloak or cape is a magnificent theatrical design by Lee Menichetti, a versatile artist most well known for this jewelry creations. I don't know why it was made, except for joy, and I don't know if it had a use except to wear and be fabulous. The cloak is an egg yolk yellow silk faille with very fine ribbing, and the lining is the same but in solid black (we'll add a better photo of the lining soon). It closes with self-ties in front. Of course the back of the cloak needs a little explanation: White and iridescent sequins (and a few rhinestones) form rays emanating from a black sequined sun. Below the sun is what is best described as a black bow lined in yellow with horsehair inserted (now made of polyester or nylon) inside the two loops on top to creatne fullness (now just a little crushed but could be revived). The cloak is about 58 down center back. Be sure to study the photographs because they too are part of the description.  CONDITION Excellent condition with only a very few tiny spots - like a pinhead or smaller - scattered far apart.  Possibly never worn. (Pre-owned and vintage garments almost always show minor signs of their past even if no significant flaws are present.)
