I created a hearth-like furnace for one person by pouring Asahi Caster 13S refractory cement into a custom-made mold.
I named it Iori-ro (庵炉), inspired by the image of a hearth for enjoying charcoal making alone in a quiet hermitage.

The Iori-ro - Black is colored with black cement pigment. It has been used for charcoal making without any cracks.
The sides have a mirror-like finish, reflecting images like canned coffee (please see photos).

◾️Background of Creation◾️
While enjoying charcoal grilling in my garden, I wanted to create a personal hearth, and started by making a hearth for it with perlite mortar.

The perlite mortar hearth cracked due to heat, so I tried using refractory cement. It did not crack and became reusable.
It can also be used after coloring without cracking.

The Iori-ro - ioriro- can be used as a charcoal grill as is, but I believe there are also ways to enjoy it by processing wood to create a box hearth or a sunken hearth yourself.
I would be happy if you could use it as an item to enjoy drinking alone.

◾️Precautions◾️
The bottom of the main unit gets very hot, so for safety, please elevate it about 15cm from the table or surface it is placed on. I use mine on top of blocks.

This size is intended for solo charcoal grilling and may not provide sufficient heat for large BBQs.
Do not fill the hearth with a large amount of charcoal, as it may cause cracking. Avoid using it at high heat.

Please be careful as the unit weighs approximately 7kg and may break if dropped.

The sides of the unit will also become hot over time during charcoal grilling, so please be careful to avoid burns.

◾️Finally◾️
The mold has been renewed since the last production batch, resulting in a mirror-like finish on the sides and improved quality. Due to rising raw material costs and the fact that we are selling at a price that allows us to continue production, please refrain from negotiating prices.
