This is the GRAPH TECH STRING SAVER SADDLE PRS bridge saddle PS-8220-00.
This is a 10mm pitch bridge saddle for PRS (Paul Reed Smith).
Compared to metal saddles, STRING SAVER dramatically improves string breakage resistance and sustain.
STRING SAVER creates a thin Teflon film as the string moves and vibrates against the saddle.
This acts as a lubricant, preventing the string from being excessively fixed to the saddle and spreading the load, which tends to concentrate at a single point, over a wider area.
This is how string breakage is prevented.
STRING SAVER saddles produce a deep, crisp tone, similar to vintage steel saddles, and consequently improve sustain.
