Vintage Kashmiri Chain Stitch Wool Rug Camel Caravan India Pictorial 24x36

Beautiful vintage Kashmiri chain-stitch pictorial textile featuring an elaborate camel caravan scene with riders, travelers, animals, trees and figures carrying vessels.  The entire scene is densely worked in colorful yarn with wonderful folk-art detail. Earthy camel brown, tan and muted blue-green are accented with pink, turquoise, olive and rust tones, all surrounded by a substantial dark brown border. The piece has a wonderfully collected, global-bohemian look and displays beautifully as textile wall art.  Size: approximately 24” x 36”  The back is covered with dark fabric. There is a damaged/worn area on the backing where the underlying stitching is exposed, as shown clearly in the photos. This appears to affect the backing rather than creating an obvious hole through the decorated front. Please review all photos carefully for condition.
