Vintage Needlepoint Canvas Christmas Tree Heart Border Cotton White 18x14 1980s

A wonderfully large vintage hand-painted needlepoint canvas featuring a classic evergreen Christmas tree framed by a festive red and green heart border.  The central tree is painted primarily in shades of green with black guidelines defining the layered branches. Its relatively simple interior makes this an especially fun canvas for creative stitching—the branches provide plenty of room for decorative stitches, dimensional fibers, beads, ornaments, garland or other embellishments.  Surrounding the tree is one of the best details of the design: a cheerful folk-art inspired border of bright red hearts alternating with small green leafy motifs, giving the canvas a Scandinavian or traditional European Christmas feel.  Design area: approximately 18 tall x 14 wide  The canvas is vintage and unused/unstitched. No designer or manufacturer identification is visible, and I have not attributed it to a specific maker.  Because of its substantial size, this could make a beautiful finished Christmas wall hanging, framed needlepoint, large holiday pillow or heirloom seasonal decoration.
