Vintage Damascene Bird Brooch Whimsigoth Botanical Black Gold Filigree

Absolutely gorgeous vintage statement brooch found at a market in Portugal, featuring an intricate gold-tone bird nestled among flowers, leaves and scrolling botanical details against a dramatic black background. The delicate openwork filigree frame gives this such an ornate old-world look. It sits right at the intersection of whimsigoth, romantic goth, dark cottagecore, grandmacore and maximalist vintage style — the kind of small accessory that completely changes a blazer, coat, scarf, dress or bag. The bird, florals and curling foliage also give it a beautiful folklore-inspired feel for anyone who collects botanical, nature-inspired or unusual vintage jewelry. • Vintage market find from Portugal • Black and gold tone • Bird + floral botanical motif • Ornate filigree/openwork frame • Damascene-style decorative work • Old-world European aesthetic • Statement brooch / lapel pin • Maker and exact metal content unknown • Country of manufacture unknown Preowned vintage condition with age-appropriate wear.
