Unique vintage Japanese wind-up music box designed in the shape of an old-fashioned lantern. Features an oval glass body surrounded by an aged metal lantern-style frame with hanging handle. Bottom is stamped JAPAN and retains its original “HOW DRY I AM” tune label. Believed to date approximately to the 1950s–1960s Mid-Century era based on construction and styling. Wonderful primitive, rustic, farmhouse or eclectic vintage display piece — especially fun for collectors of unusual Japanese music boxes and novelty decor. Condition: Good vintage condition with authentic age-related wear throughout. Metal shows oxidation, rust, tarnishing and areas of green verdigris/patina. Glass shows age-related marks/residue. These characteristics contribute to its wonderful aged appearance. Please review all photos closely as they are part of the condition description. Made in Japan.
