This is a classic 2-piece desk and chair set from COUNCILL (Council) of America.
The desk and chair feature an elegant Queen Anne style design with gracefully curved cabriole legs, evoking the traditional charm of Western Europe.
Queen Anne Style
A popular architectural and craft style in England from 1870 to 1890, during the late Victorian era. While incorporating eclectic decorative elements from European classical designs, similar to the Gothic Revival boom of the early Victorian period, it emphasizes functionality and practicality with understated direct ornamentation. This style pairs well with modern interiors.
Cabriole Legs
Also known as cat legs, these are stylized animal legs that evolved from redesigned swirling front legs inspired by acanthus motifs, a classic Western European decoration. The term cabriole originates from the French dance term cabriole (to bound) and the Italian capriola (a goat's leap).
Mahogany
Mahogany is known for its excellent workability, dimensional stability, and durability. It dries quickly naturally with minimal warping or splitting, making it traditionally used for dashboards, steering wheels, and shift knobs in luxury cars. It has been a world-renowned precious wood for a long time, highly valued especially in Europe and America. Its elegant and beautiful grain is used for decorative veneers on furniture and guitars. It finishes well with a high gloss, creating an overwhelmingly luxurious atmosphere compared to other woods.
