Etching is a intaglio printing technique that uses acid to create grooves on a metal plate.
Depending on the angle, the cat's fur appears to be raised.
It is kept in plastic to prevent it from getting dirty, so it may appear wrinkled due to reflection in the photos. However, the reflections and wrinkles should disappear when the plastic is removed and the item is used.
There are brown tape marks on the four corners of the back where it was attached to the backing paper.
The front surface is clean.
A lovely golden and silver cat.
